" 'Oh day of fire and sun, like a crystal burning. Slow days go one by one, but you have no returning.' " -Queen Tiandra
Affiliation: Seelie Court, the Summer Court
Mab and her twin sister Tiandra, also called Titania, have ruled the Feywild together at least since the foundation of the Dwarven Empire. Where Mab is is the undisputed master of cunning and the embodiment of cold reason, Tiandra is full of passion and ruled by her emotions. Her demense is Senaliesse, and her seat of power is Astrazalian. Her followers among the Fey were once called Sun Elves, and today her kingdom is known as the Summer Court.
As the War of Ruin wound toward the close, at the end of the first era, Queen Mab convinced Tiandra to involve the Fey in the mortal War of Ruin, and champions from both the Empire of Arkhosia and the Empire of Bael Turath were invited to Shinaelestra to win the support of the Fey. While the Avatar of Io spoke on behalf of Arkhosia, the Heroes of Baldur's Gate spoke on behalf of Bael Turath. Tiandra found the underhanded politics of Bael Turath offensive, and favored the honorable draconic folk of Arkhosia.
After Tiandra and Mab trapped three of the champions in a Feybound contract for their fates, Tiandra released the Avatar's fate back to Io as a sign of good faith, and offered the allegiance of her Sun Elves to the Empire of Arkhosia. That night, while Shinaelestra slept, Mab commanded her Moon Elves to murder the Sun Elves and Tiandra in their sleep. The Summer Queen responded by organizing a strong resistance, though Mab was empowered by the Athame, and gradually took the city.
On the hour of Mab's victory, as she closed on Tiandra, Count Grodd spilled his corrupted blood on the Athame, which had become an anchor between the Feywild, Shadowfell, and the Astral Sea. This corruption spread to each of these realms, unraveling the glamour of the Feywild, reversing death in Shadowfell, and bringing wilderness and death to the Astral Sea. As the Feywild unraveled, many Sun Elves escaped to the Mortal Realm, calling themselves Eladrin (High Elves) in her honor. Though legends persist that Tiandra escaped, official records maintain that Tiandra died with the Feywild.
